Cobra Daytona Coupe, Daytona Cobra Coupe
Highland Daytona Racing is a leading Cobra Daytona Coupe designer and manufacturer. Inspired by the rarest of all Shelby Cobras, each Highland Daytona Racing Cobra Daytona Coupe replica is hand fabricated from the ground up using only the highest quality materials and components available to ensure the utmost level of performance, reliability and driver safety.
With a long history of phenomenal performance at speed and unique, one of a kind world-champion design, the Cobra Daytona Coupe was a true automotive legend. Highland Daytona Racing took the original dimension Cobra Daytona Coupe, painstakingly replicated the body and modernized the underpinnings with precision-engineered frame and suspension geometry.
This thoroughly modern Cobra Coupe easily stands out in any crowd. The Cobra Daytona Coupe's heritage, coupled with the nostalgia and romance of a bygone era, sets it far apart from the pack of Porsches, BMWs, Audis and Corvettes. Loudly and authoritatively pounding the ground, the Highland Daytona Racing Cobra Daytona Coupe's Ford 302/331cid generates 450-hp @ 6800rpm and propels its mere weight of 1,950 pounds out of every apex with heart-pounding acceleration.
Experience
Highland Daytona Racing's chief designers bring more than 60 years of collective experience (from the structural aviation and aerodynamics fields) in mechanical systems maintenance, design, fabrication and engineering along with their passion for making the Cobra Coupe the indisputable standard in Cobra Daytona Coupe reproductions.
Technology
America's premier race engineer, Terry Satchell, designed the Satchell Link rear suspension system used on our Cobra Daytona Coupe. The Satchell Link rear suspension provides by far the best handling and all around high performance rear set-up obtainable, short of a Formula 1 style IRS system.
Performance
As tested with our 351w, hp @450 horsepower, the Cobra Daytona Coupe accelerates to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds with braking back to a standstill in 106 feet. The 1/4 mile turns in 11.4 seconds at 126.4 mph.
Safety
Safety is a top priority and integral to our design approach. Highland Daytona Racing incorporates a Chrome-moly frame and suspension in every Cobra Daytona Coupe. This set-up is five times stronger than the standard mild steel typically used in the kit car and automotive industry.
Our 16-gauge steel floor is welded around its entire perimeter.
To further protect the occupants, we welded in large lateral straps to each side of the frame. This set-up is as strong, if not stronger than the current Winston Cup car set-ups. Each Highland Daytona Racing Cobra Daytona Coupe will exceed safety compliance rules in any of today's most stringent race sanctioning bodies.
Cobra Daytona Coupe...Rooted in the past, a formidable performer in the present
When it comes down to material, fabrication and design, the Highland Daytona Racing Cobra Daytona Coupe can stand right up along side of today's most popular GT- 2 & 3 full blown race cars and look great while doing so.
